Is this a haunted house?
No... and yes... It is frightening, that's for sure. We believe it is the scariest event around because it is founded in truth not fiction. The difference is it is focuses on real world horrors, a graphic representation of hell, then of course, a message of freedom.

Why a Christian haunted house?
October 31st was created by God, not the world. We wanted to capture the season and make it obedient to Christ, so to speak. This is the time of year where much of the world wants a good scare. Well, instead of pumpkins, skeletons, goblins, etc, why not give them a picture of the real dangers and horrors?

What will the experience be like?
A line will form outside and groups of around 6 people at a time will be allowed into the building at intervals. There will be many groups in the building at the same time, just not in the same section. The first part is a very dark maze. The group will have to find their way out of the maze. Once out of the maze, they will be led through real world horrors, such as drug use, suicide, lust, the occult, and more. Then comes the hell scene. This is a very graphic and scary view of hell. Once they pass through hell, they will be given a view of what Christ accomplished on the cross.

Who is doing this?
GoFish Ministries in conjunction with local area churches and individuals that believe in what we are doing (YOU if you get involved!)

Who is GoFish Ministries?
GoFish Ministries is not a church. We are a non-profit corporation that was formed to assist area ministries and to unite Christians beyond local church boundaries. It was never God's intention for there to be a boundary or territory marking between local churches. There is one church -- the church of God, of which Jesus Christ is the head, and we are the body. Our mission is to provide ways and means of Christian's uniting across the local church boundaries.

Do you believe in the local church?
ABSOLUTELY. A local church is very important to the overall spiritual health of a believer. As Christians follow the Lord, they should be encountering God on an everyday basis. The local church is a gathering place where these people, who have encountered God all week, can come together and worship God together. We strongly believe in the local church. Which is why we allow a church to utilize our building for worship on Sundays.

Is it too late to get involved?
Absolutely not. Until the event is over, it ain't over. It takes a lot of resources (people and money) to put on an event like this and it is never too late. If you would like to financially support the effort, be a prayer partner, or come out and help, please contact us at: 815-382-4599.

What other types of events do you sponsor?
One of our most successful events is Christian Open-Mics. We open our building to the Christian community on Friday evenings (except for the 2nd Friday of the month, in which we participate in another event held elsewhere). It is a free event, and we provide free coffee, soda, and snacks. The purpose is to allow musicians and singers to come and use their talent for God in a family and faith friendly environment. We have had up to 12 churches represented in a single event, without even advertising! Word is getting out.

Can I share some ideas with you that might be great for your organization?
We would love to hear from you. We want to glorify God in the best way possible. We believe in the biblical view of the church as an organism -- one body many parts. Some of our best ideas are not our own! If you have ideas, send me an email at: info@go-fish.org.
